OUR SERVICES

Life Coaching

We work with individuals to help them determine their life goals and help them remove any obstacles that may be preventing them from reaching those goals.

Self advocacy

"Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime..."  We are firm believers in self advocacy.  Learning to speak up for yourself is the first step to true independence.

life skills education

"Keep calm and yell for help!"  Living with a disability can be scary.  When you fall out of bed at 3am - pulling the phone plug out of the wall - and there's no one around to help - what do you do?  It's life and it happens.  We've been there and we can help you learn to navigate the pitfalls and potholes of living an independent life.  Believe us - it's worth it!

Social Development Opportunities

No man (or woman) is an island!  Relationships and social activities are the spice of life.  We provide social opportunities through group and community activities, educational sessions, projects and sometimes - just good old fun get togethers!  Participants learn to serve as support for each other as well as a source of support for their communities.  Get out there!

ADA Training

“Let the shameful wall of exclusion finally come tumbling down.” - The Americans with Disabilities Act was passed by former President George H.W Bush. It prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in areas of life such as employment, public services, public accommodations, and telecommunications. We Stand 4 Something offers training, using materials from the Mid-Atlantic ADA center and Cornell University, that will educate you on the history of this law and the rights that you are entitled to because of the law.  This training is available to small and large groups. Please contact us for more detail.
